Wonder and excitement visited YCIS along with the solar eclipse. Seizing the teachable moment, teachers on both campuses helped children to learn the science of solar eclipses and how they could view the partial eclipse safely. Preschoolers took turns to go outside to look through a large viewing box and followed the eclipse on NASA’s live stream. Students on the K-8 campus gathered in the courtyard for a viewing party with homemade viewing boxes and special glasses. Some parents came to join in the fun too!
