YCIS combines Chinese language/culture learning with rich activities and academic development in a nurturing, engaging and fun environment. Our Summer Camps incorporate YCIS’s pioneering practices in global education developed through more than 90 years of experience.
At YCIS, learning the Chinese language and culture can be educational and enjoyable. Join us for a summer adventure at YCIS Silicon Valley, where campers take part in creative, hands-on activities while building their language skills and confidence in our Chinese Immersion Summer Camps.
Chinese Language Arts, Science. Arts and crafts. Culture. Drama. Music. Sports. Games. Cooking. And more! YCIS Summer Camps include the best of traditional camp experiences, plus unique thematic learning that caters to all levels of Chinese language ability.
“My son had so much fun. He enjoyed all the hands-on learning and gained so much confidence in his Chinese speaking.” -YCIS Summer Camp Parent
Our Academic Enrichment Camp is designed to be fun, rigorous, and inspirational. It sparks the passion in knowledge, nurtures creativity, and advances individual skills through our refined inquiry-based learning environment. Campers learn with peers in a small class provided by specialist teachers. Small group and individual activities allow each student to work at an individualized level and pace, which maximizes the learning experience.
AT YCIS, the pedagogy of Science Education is “learning by doing”. Kids learn Science concepts and drills through real life experience, which generate student-led learning experience and develop a deep interest in the subject. YCIS’s Inventor’s Workshop Summer Camp is perfect for kids who find STEAM fun and meaningful. Students will create, build, experiment, and learn theory. They will also read related storybooks, write STEAM journals, and create videos. They’ll make their own lava lamps, tornadoes in bottles, solar ovens, bee habitats, and more!
No audition is required for YCIS’s Broadway Musical Camp! This camp is tailored to build confidence, improve communication skills, and teach children perseverance, creative problem-solving, and the ability to focus — all great skills that will lead to classroom success. The Chinese language component just brings the camp to another level. In addition to a traditional performance art camp, campers at YCIS will also learn about famous Chinese legends, fairy tales, and fables while writing their own story for the stage. Supported by our experienced Chinese faculty, they’ll write a script, design their costumes, create props, and perform their own production!
Are you ready to adventure through the jungles of Central America, Western Africa, or Southeast Asia this summer? Explorers will dive into an interdisciplinary learning experience with a boost in language arts, science, biology, and arts. They’ll learn about wild animals, plants, and the habitats of the jungle while exploring different landforms, climates, and bodies of water. Based on the knowledge they learn, the young explorers will build gardens on our campus and create their own safari dioramas.
