National Junior Honor Society

National Junior Honor Society:  Scholarship. Service. Leadership. Citizenship. Character.

The YCIS chapter of the National Junior Honor Society recognizes students who demonstrate scholarship, service, leadership, citizenship and character. Middle school students must apply for membership and demonstrate evidence of achievement through academics, community service and leadership. Once inducted, members have the opportunity to grow their leadership skills by attending state conferences to connect with other young leaders.

YCIS NJHS members have created school clubs, read stories in Chinese at a local library storytime, served meals at shelters, initiated fundraisers for charity, tended the school garden over breaks, taken on leadership roles in local sports leagues and youth symphonies among many other activities. They are committed to serving others and making a positive contribution to their community.
