Food Science with Chef Kenji

Thank you to award-winning author, chef and scientist, J. Kenji Lopez-Alt (known as Kenji), for lending his culinary expertise to YCIS middle schoolers!  While studying the science of baking with YCIS science teacher Brandon Lee, students used their knowledge to create cookie recipes and bake samples. Chef Kenji taste-tested cookies and gave advice on how recipes could be improved. Who better to give this advice than the author of The Food Lab: Better Home Cooking Through Science?  Students were grateful not only for helpful advice but also to meet such a successful food scientist!
