The school day is 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Tuition includes:
School supplies, textbooks, and learning materials
Most day field trips
Testing fees (grades 3-8)
After school orchestra (grades 4-8)
1:1 laptops (grades 3-5), laptops/iPads (TK-2), and individual laptops for each student (grades 6-8)
After school care (grades 6-8)
The YALP after-school program is an extended day program for YCIS TK-5 students. YALP provides homework support, educational activities in Chinese to support language learning, outdoor play and a snack. Optional teacher-led extracurricular classes are offered at no additional cost to YALP students.
$4,750 = Annual fee for Full Time (4-5 days per week)
$3,780 = Annual fee for 3 days per week
$2,520 = Annual fee for 2 days per week
$1,260 = Annual fee for 1 day per week
YALP also offers a variety of enrichment classes after school for TK-8 students. Most enrichment classes are provided by third-party vendors and instructors and incur a separate fee.
YALP offers Summer Camps for students entering TK to Grade 6.
Tuition includes: all learning materials and supplies, snacks and field trips
Optional childcare mini-camps will be offered for three school breaks at an additional cost.
FULL: Payment of the full amount of tuition due on July 1, 2022.
SEMI-ANNUAL: Two payments of 50% each due on July 1, 2022, and December 1, 2022.
TEN MONTHS: 10 equal payments from July 1, 2022 – April 1, 2023.
NOTE: Semi-Annual and Ten-Month Payment Plans incur interest. Total amounts due are calculated based on program selection and payment plan chosen and are disclosed in full on the contract prior to enrollment.
We believe a bilingual education should be accessible to a wide variety of families. We offer a 20% sibling discount for each child after the first is enrolled.
We are also committed, to the extent our resources allow, to supporting families who wish to enroll their children at YCIS Silicon Valley but cannot otherwise afford to do so. Financial Aid is available to current and new students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through Grade 8 who demonstrate financial need. All Financial Aid applications are submitted through FACTS Management.
An application and current tax documents are required to determine eligibility. To request further information on financial aid, please email YCIS.
A non-refundable tuition deposit of $1,500 per student, along with an enrollment contract, is required for all new and returning students to secure a place at YCIS. All payment plans include a credit for the tuition deposit.
A one-time, non-refundable New Student Fee of $1,000 is due in the first year of enrollment and is billed according to the payment plan selected.
Lunch Program (all grades): Parents may choose to order hot lunches for their children through the school’s catering service.
Overnight Field Trips (TK-8): Most school field trips are covered by tuition. However, supplemental field trips, overnight field trips and school trips such as the 5th Grade trip to China or Middle School trips to Costa Rica and Washington, D.C. will incur additional costs. These trips are planned in advance with input from parents.
School Uniforms (TK-8): YCIS students in Grades TK-8 are required to purchase their school uniforms through our supplier, Land’s End. Land’s End offers high quality, reasonably priced uniform items. They also offer many promotions throughout the year.
Violin (K-4): Students in Grades K-4 will need to rent or purchase a new or used violin for their music lessons. Guidelines for selecting an appropriate instrument are provided by the music teacher prior to the beginning of the school year.
Class Fund (all grades): The school’s Parent Organization collects a modest annual contribution from parents for their child(ren)’s class fund to support extracurricular class-based celebrations and activities.
